Book Blockchain Bubble or Revolution: The Future of Bitcoin, Blockchains, and Cryptocurrencies Review :

As an MBB consultant for the tech industry, I have spent a lot of time trying to get a good understanding of blockchain and its future. Bubble or Revolution is the only book I have read that does exactly this. It does a fantastic job of explaining how blockchain technology works (about one fourth of the book). I really like how the authors use creative metaphors to explain what is happening behind the scenes - I feel like I can now explain how tech works to a 5th grader. The remaining three fourths of the book focuses on the use cases for blockchains and cryptocurrencies in the form of case studies and research (other books like Blockchain Basics spend 60% of the book explaining the tech in micro details that are irrelevant). There is a lot of thoughtful analysis when dissecting these case studies that helped me understand some of the shortcomings and weaknesses of blockchain technology.I have read a lot of overly bullish books (like Blockchain Revolution), but Bubble or Revolution differs in that it offers frameworks for helping you understand in what use cases the pros of blockchain technology outweigh the cons. The authors do a fantastic job of making predictions on how major countries (e.g. China) and major companies (e.g. Facebook and Microsoft) will adopt blockchain and the reasons behind it.If you are looking for an easy to understand overview of how blockchain works, why it matters, AND where the technology is headed from an unbiased perspective, I'd highly recommend checking out Bubble or Revolution!
After reading this book which was informative yet laced with a lot of leftist centralist ideals I don’t recommend it. I had no idea there were three authors and all from Big Tech ; Microshaft, Joogle, and Farcebook. The most richest (thanks to central bank stock market propping due to endless money printing),the most censorious and Marxist anti freedom companies. They kept saying the Federal reserve and regulation is good. Haha for them! Low inflation rate my @$$! Look at housing look at food and fuel, look at college and cars. The inflation rate is all manipulated. The Fed is the biggest manipulator! Create money out of thin air of course they can indirectly buy out all media, enrich the ultra rich the 1% of 1% and create a huge wealth divide and race division and tons of social problems. Majority of divorces are due to money problems. Blame the Fed’s Inflation galore! Takes more dollars to buy goods later on! Bitcoin is deflationary and rewards savers? it takes less bitcoin to buy goods later on! US fiat is pro WAR, bitcoin fosters peace! They mentioned mining affecting climate change . Actually Aerial spraying or chemicals causes adverse weather not carbon. The US military use insane amount of fossil fuels and energy to enforce its dollar hegemony. They force countries to accept it or get cancelled from the SWIFT system etc. These authors have been brainwashed in college. Academia is the biggest producer of atheists and leftists. Book smart yes, common sense no. The list goes on and on and on. If you believe in God of the Bible, freedom and prosperity and family, stay away from this trash! Yes it’s chock full of knowledge but they kept using weasel words like “but” “except” etc. They focus on so much of the negatives even a chapter on “Bitcoin Blunders” has the most pages. If you wanna get turned off by cryptos read this book. I didn’t pay to hear sad stories and Isolated negative examples. They think ppl are too dumb to understand how to use crypto. Yes the US is financially illiterate but it’s the educational system to blame. They punish mistakes, students are afraid to make mistakes and it hinders learning. They don’t know that people learn from mistakes . Rather than punish they should correct the mistakes not just keep bringing up all the negatives. After a baby is born the first few years would be tough you don’t punish when the baby can’t walk or cry for food etc. Bitcoin is the same it’s very new you can’t just give up and say “oh we need more regulation and ppl are too dumb to use wallets”. They say Bitcoin been around only a decade, NO it's been in development 25 years ago by the Cypherpunk movement, which started 35 years ago by those who wanted privacy and cryptography. This book doesn't mention it, it's erased from history. Google is well known for "erasing" history. This book made it sound like criminals all bitcoin but wait they’re dumb how can they understand? Criminals don’t read that’s why they are uneducated and go into a life of crime. The "criminals" who used bitcoin were highly educated that know how to gain the system. I doubt your porch pirate can hack computers. If you lost your money or bitcoins from an exchange it’s your fault. Learn to secure your wallet it’s hack proof it’ll take a million years to hack it. Everywhere you turn you break a law, they did this to turn citizens into criminals because it's easier to control. Lastly the majority of criminals still use cash! Yup many $100 bills contain traces of cocaine and some are counterfeit that some countries refuse to take it unless it's super crisp and clean, no marks or creases. Please read pro bitcoin stuff go search up Max Keiser for facts online . Tech changes too fast, by the time a book is published it’s old news. No mention of Elon Musk here investing $1.5 bill into BTC. Ether 2.0 will improve its blockchain by leaps and bounds, no mention of sharding or side chains. Nothing on NFT in this book, see? I can go on.Everything has been improved by technology, transportation, communication, education, etc,... except money banking it's still gasping for air. Bitcoin is a technological improvement on money and the first in hundreds of years ever since they "printed" paper. Gold is arcane you're living in the dark ages, we live in a high tech society, get with the program!
